President Bola Tinubu has removed General Christopher Musa from his position as Chief of Defence Staff and appointed new leaders for the Nigerian Armed Forces.
This was announced in a statement by Sunday Dare, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, on Friday.

According to the statement, General Olufemi Oluyede, who was the Chief of Army Staff, is now the new Chief of Defence Staff.
Other new appointments include:

Major-General W. Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff,

Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke as Chief of Air Staff, and
-
Rear Admiral I. Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff.
The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye, will continue in his position.
The statement said the changes were part of the government’s plan to strengthen national security.
President Tinubu thanked the outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Musa, and the other former service chiefs for their patriotic service and leadership.
He also urged the newly appointed officers to work hard, stay professional, and maintain unity within the Armed Forces to keep Nigeria safe.
