‎City Gate Sports Club Holds End-Of-The-Year-Party, Honours Outstanding Members

‎Members of the City Gate Sport Club have praised the Club as progressive at the Annual End-Of-The-Year Gala Night held Saturday in Abuja.

‎A night of merriment, laughter, and cheer memories as City Gate Sports  Club, a member-owned football club located in Abuja, hosted the 8th Gala Night and Awards as its signed-out activities for the year 2025.

Club President Dr. Vincent Ugochukwu N., in his opening remarks, expressed satisfaction and happiness towards the growth of the club.

‎”The Club has come a long way.
‎We are not a club known for just about playing football, but about helping each other and progressing together,” said Vincent Ugochukwu.

‎Former Vice President Okwudili Ogbaji, on his part, said the club is all about togetherness and building an atmosphere where all the members can survive.

‎Awards of Appreciation for Excellent Service were conferred on some members for remarkable roles played in the club for the period 2020-2025, namely: Oyetunji Ayodeji as Treasurer, Mr. Iheriohanma Chima Canice as Secretary, Mr Onyeachon Obinna as PRO, Mr Aneke Charles as Provost, Mr. Innocent Azebeokhai as Financial Secretary, Mr. Ikem Valentine as Assistant Secretary, Mr Ojemen Kingsley as Coach, Engr. Ihunweze Uche as Works and Project Committee Chairman, Dr Samuel Adudu as Medical Committee Chairman, Prince Chukwuemeka Omesike as Welfare Chairman, and Mr Abdulkadir Lawal as Media Committee Chairman. Barr. Udoka Anyanwu as Disciplinary Committee Chairman, Dr Vincent Ugkchukwu N. as Field Manager’s Chairman, Engr Agunanna Udochukwu Nkemjika as Provost, Architect Ugochukwu Aguim as Club-Man of the Year, Mr Okwudili Ogbaji as Vice President, and Aare Bobaselu Adebayo Akomolafe KSM as President of the Club.

Other members and friends of the club also received special recognition and commendations.

The night full of highlights was crowned with the presentation of the Winners Trophy to the winning team from the club’s Annual Football Tournament.

Speaking to the press on his award, the City Gate Sports Club president praised the club.

I appreciate the Club and hope this will motivate other members in service to the CGS Club,” said Vincent Ugochukwu.

‎Some member’s wives also expressed their satisfactions: “The unity in the club is superb. I like the way they relate with one another; I pray nothing should destroy the love amongst our husbands.

“Apart from playing football, they also assist one another in businesses.
As a wife, I have benefited too,” said Vivian Okwy-Ogbaji.

In the spirit of oneness and togetherness, members took a moment of silence to honour the souls of their departed member.

City Gate Sports Club is a social club that has been making positive impacts, and not only in the lives of members but also in the community through development projects and empowerment initiatives.
