Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba said the operation was based on intelligence and carried out with the support of the NDLEA.
He added that the ship had travelled through countries linked to drug trafficking before coming to Nigeria.
The vessel has been detained, and the seized cocaine has been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation. Oshoba said the action shows Customs’ commitment to stopping illegal trade and protecting the country, especially as the festive season gets closer.
He warned that the port will not be used for criminal activities and that all goods entering or leaving Apapa Port will be thoroughly checked.
According to him, the collaboration between Customs and NDLEA is getting stronger and will continue to disrupt drug smuggling networks.
NDLEA officials, represented by CN Haliru Umar, were present to receive the drugs. Customs also urged port users to obey the law and report any suspicious activities to help keep the port safe.
