Former Chief Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad Dies

Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad (retired), has died.

A close source said he died on Tuesday at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. The Nigerian Association of Muslim Law Students (NAMLAS), National Headquarters in Abuja, also confirmed his death in a condolence message.

NAMLAS described Justice Muhammad as an honest, humble, and dedicated judge. The group said his death is a great loss to the Nigerian judiciary and the country.

According to the association, he was fair, brave, and loyal to the rule of law throughout his career. They said his good work and example will continue to guide future generations.

NAMLAS also said that beyond being a judge, Justice Muhammad was a mentor and father figure to many young Muslim law students across Nigeria.

The association sent condolences to his family, the judiciary, and the Nigerian people, and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad served in the judiciary for many years and later became the Chief Justice of Nigeria before retiring.
