Former Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, General Mohammed Abdullahi (Rtd.), has died at the age of 86.
He passed away early Wednesday. Although there has been no official confirmation, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has released a condolence message.

The late General, a native of Ilorin in Kwara State, will be buried at the National Cemetery in Abuja on Wednesday.
In his message, the Emir described Abdullahi as a patriotic and selfless Nigerian who served the country in many important roles and helped the less privileged.
He said Abdullahi was a proud son of Ilorin and a true nationalist who promoted peace and unity. He prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
Born in 1939, Abdullahi served Nigeria in several key positions, including as Chief of Staff to Presidents Obasanjo and Yar’Adua, National Security Adviser to General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Director-General of the National Security Organisation, and Governor of the former Benue-Plateau State.
