Gov Otti Visits Nnamdi Kanu in Sokoto Prison

Abia State Governor Alex Otti visited Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned IPOB, at a prison in Sokoto State.

He was joined by Kanu’s younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu, the state Attorney General Ikechukwu Uwanna, and his media adviser Ferdinand Ekeoma.

Governor Otti encouraged Kanu to stay calm and strong, assuring him that efforts to secure his freedom, which began over two years ago, have been intensified.

He also said the Sultan of Sokoto supports Kanu’s release and wants tensions to ease.

The visit came two weeks after Kanu was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Abuja for terrorism.

The court also restricted his access to mobile phones and broadcasting devices except under strict supervision.
