The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that it received a formal petition from businessman Aliko Dangote against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Farouk Ahmed.
Dangote accused Ahmed of spending about $5 million, estimated at ₦7 billion, on school fees for his four children in Switzerland.

He also alleged that the NMDPRA boss is involved in actions that weaken local fuel refining while favouring fuel importers.
The ICPC spokesperson, John Odey, said the petition was submitted on Tuesday by one of Dangote’s lawyers.
He noted that the commission had earlier not received any petition, contrary to media reports.
Odey assured Nigerians that the ICPC would carefully study the claims raised in the petition.
He said the agency is committed to carrying out a full and transparent investigation.
He added that the ICPC would take necessary action based on the outcome of its findings, in line with the law.
