INEC Declares Soludo Winner of Anambra Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election held on November 8.

The Returning Officer, Professor Edoma Omoregie, made the announcement at the INEC collation centre in Awka, the state capital, on Sunday morning.

According to the official results, Soludo received 422,664 votes, while Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came second with 99,445 votes.

George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 10,576 votes, and Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came fourth with 1,401 votes.

Professor Omoregie said the election was peaceful and met all legal requirements.

“I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, the Returning Officer for the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election, declare that Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, having scored the highest number of valid votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.
