Reports from Borno State say that a mistaken attack by the Nigerian military has led to the deaths of several civilians.
The attack reportedly happened on December 14 in Mararraba area of Kukawa Local Government.
The air force was targeting terrorists but mistakenly hit fishermen and commercial drivers transporting fish.
Survivors said at least 10 vehicles were destroyed, while many people were killed or injured.
Those injured are receiving treatment at the Munguno General Hospital.
Reports also said the military aircraft carried out the attack from about 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The incident happened shortly after the Nigerian Air Force promised to protect civilians while intensifying operations against terrorists.
