A Nigerian journalist, Livinus Chibuike Victor, has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest interview marathon, speaking for 74 hours and 10 seconds.
Victor aimed to beat the previous record of 55 hours and 24 seconds, and he even went beyond his own goal of 72 hours and 30 seconds.

During the marathon, Victor interviewed 129 people from different backgrounds, including Princess Edna Azurra, National President of the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS); Nneoma R. Okorocha, former First Lady of Imo State; Comrade Grace Ike, Chairman of the NUJ FCT; and former NAWOJ Presidents like Chief Moji Makanjuola, Rtn Evelyn Onyilo, and Chief Ladi Bala. He also spoke with Nollywood stars, entrepreneurs, and media leaders.
The event, titled “Nigeria Our Strength,” was organized to promote press freedom, highlight journalism’s role in democracy, and celebrate Nigerian resilience.
Comrade Grace Ike praised the effort, saying, “This is not just about breaking a record; it’s about being an ambassador for press freedom.”
The Guinness World Records team has not yet officially confirmed the record, but Victor’s achievement has already received wide recognition and praise from journalists and the public for his dedication to journalism and commitment to freedom of the press.
