President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a letter to the Senate asking for the confirmation of Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro from Plateau State as a new Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Doro to Replace Yilwatda
According to a statement by Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Dr. Doro’s nomination comes after Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, who was previously the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, became the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.

Who Is Dr. Bernard Doro?
Dr. Doro was born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. He has over 20 years of experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical management, leadership, and community development in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Education and Career
He holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA focused on information technology and business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Dr. Doro is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with experience working in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) across hospitals, walk-in centres, and GP practices.
He has also been involved in youth mentorship and social impact projects both abroad and in Nigeria.
