President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja after a two-week official trip to Japan and Brazil.
His plane landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 1:20 am on Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Top government officials were at the airport to welcome him. They included the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; other ministers, and special advisers.
Tinubu left Abuja on August 15, stopping briefly in Dubai before continuing to Japan.
In Japan, he attended the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22. He also met with Japanese company executives and held bilateral talks.
After Japan, he travelled to Brazil’s capital, Brasilia, on a state visit at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
